A New Year.. a new page...

Happy 2008! This picture was taken of Eric and I on New Year's Eve at the Youngstown Cultural Arts Center. We had a great time we were surrounded by great friends and great music. We could not have asked for a better NYE. Now I forge ahead into the new year. Yes, it is February and I have not completely figured out my "resolutions". If I did they would go something like this:

* Sew more
* Ride more
* Try to follow-up on every email (this is a recurring resolution)
* Commute less (currently I have a 4 hour commute 3 to 4 days a week)
* Shift my job such that I feel empowered, happy and ecstatic to be doing what I'm doing. (I'm not exactly saying quit my job and find a new job, but perhaps change the situation such that the job is meeting my needs.)
* Start a family. ;)
* Try to speak my truth all the time
* Ask for help
* Don't be so hard on myself
* Don't be so hard on others
* Continue to explore my passion for fashion

It's a start.

I'm Back!

Inspiration. It’s time to put it out there. I’ve been hemming and hawing on blogging for a long time.. And frankly, as the Bear totem has shown me it’s time to come out and express what I’m feeling and what I’m thinking. The winter of going inside and thinking and contemplating what is going on in the world is over and it is time to share what I have seen.

I have seen integrity and I have seen hypocrisy. I have seen be love and I have seen hate. I have seen triumphs and I have seen failures. I have seen support and I have seen back-stabbing. I have seen beauty, bliss, comfort, babies, sunshine, horses, laughter, family, community and fire. And hopefully over time through this blog you will see what I have seen. I will attempt to post what is going on with me what am I musing about. What I see.

Why the sudden interest in blogging again? I am generally a person who is willing to put a lot of my thoughts and feelings out there, but haven’t felt compelled (those of you that know me are laughing right now) lately. But this summer my dear fabulous and fashionable friend, Nicole, is moving to San Francisco and I am going to miss her dearly. We have shared with each other our interest in fashion and sustainability and looking fabulous. We’ve decided that one way we might stay connected as she heads south is to share our thoughts about fashion and life through blogging. Because people need to know what we are thinking about fashion.. right? Riiiight.

So perhaps this blog might not be for everyone in cyberspace and it may be a bit self indulgent, but I hope you do enjoy it.

A Quicky, isn't it always?

So, I'm trying to get into the habit of posting. And well, really, there are not enough hours in the day to get things done. Which is the subject du jour. How did my life get so full, how did I sign myself up to so many things that I have a hard time keeping track of. I feel like I spend small amounts of time working on many things. And not enough amount of time to further anythign along in a significant way. How do people do it? Personally, I will not comprimise my health to do it, perhaps that is part of the problem. :) So let's break it down. I work 40 hours a week. Yes, that is full time. I ride every week which is about 8 to 10 hours every week. I volunteer for BALLE, which is about 1 to 5 hours a week. Oh yes, school, which is about 1 to 5 hours a week depending on what I have on my plate. So far that's 60 hours. That's not too bad. Oh and I try to have a life. hmm. That could be any amount of time.

I experssed to Eric, my amazing husband, last night that I am slashing an burning my life. Cutting back, streamlining. Only doing what I NEED to do or what I WANT to do. So that involves saying "no" to some things. We'll see how that goes. Okay times' up gotta run off to work. Hopefully a more indepth and actually relevant post some other time, but this is all I have time for today!
